It's 1992. Sailor Moon is adapted into an anime. Computers are cheaper than ever. And, a new open-source music format is spreading: MIDIs.

It's a new paradigm of digital self-expression. People create and share music online. Geeks now connecting across the globe, fans collaborate to create and share MIDIs of their most beloved tunes. Sailor Moon is no exception.

It's no longer 1992. Self-made webspaces are replaced with corporate "profiles" that manipulate and capitalize on self-expression. MIDIs live on in music production, but their use is niche. Files from the 1990s-2010s are hastily forgotten, and many are lost to time.

For those that remain, please preserve them by downloading, enjoying, or sharing! I have a Bounties list for those that I'm still looking for. So if you have any Sailor Moon MIDIs of your own, check it out!

I've added floating buttons to disable visual effects at the top of the page. Or else, I've added a plain-text version of these pages here, which should be viewable on basically every browser.

How can I listen to these?

MIDI files are like sheet music for your computer. They tell it how to play, but your computer uses its own instruments to play it. Most computers come with their own instruments to do this, which are also known as MIDI libraries.

If you listened to these files when you were younger, and notice they sound different: you are correct! MIDI libraries depend on your computer's soundcard, and back in the day, soundcards sounded very different.

If you want a taste of that old-school magic MIDI sound, an easy(ish!) way to achieve this is through the use of a soundfont.

These MIDIs are from an archived version of Ramuro's site containing a number of unfinished MIDIs. He actually has MP3 versions on his site at the moment, and seems fairly averse to any redistribution (since I'm just trying to get hits apparently?) - so I'll just leave a here - but as/when such resources are not accessible I will upload them.
